VANILA WALKCYCLE WEEK
This week you will be animating Vanila Walk and submitting it in Stepped mode from Side view.
Vanila Walk is a basic walk which has no character in it and it's the most difficult walk to animate
because it's very easy to add character to a walk but avoiding character in a vanila walk is really
a difficult part .
Notes on Planning Vanila Walk -:
(a) Shoot a reference or use online resource for Vanila walk reference . Pull out all the
necessary Poses from the video ref. (Contact Pose, Extreme Low pose, Passing Pose
and Extreme High Pose) and study them carefully .
(b) Draw all those Poses you have pointed out and try including important notes in your planning
like: Noting down the hip rotation and weight shifting from one leg to the other etc.
Notes on Animating the Vanila Walk-:
1. As you will be blocking this week , i would suggest you to put all the information you can in
your blocking. Although i know you have to submit the walk from side view but you should
work on the walk from the perspective view aswell and use all the rotation and translation
axis.
axis.
2. Before you start animating first manage you Maya settings by moving on to Stepped mode
and then start blocking out the Vanila walk.
and then start blocking out the Vanila walk.
3. One piece of advice from my side would be to get up while animating the walk and perform
the walk by yourself in front of mirror this way you will understand more about the movement
of hip, knee and foot .
4. Don't have to much up and down movement in the Vanila Walk .
5. Also add overlap on hip and drag the toe in your blocking.
