AM Class 1 ( Week 3 )

BOUNCING BALL WEEK

This week you will be animating a Bouncing Ball , I have got few notes for you.

HOW TO PLAN FOR YOUR VERY FIRST BOUNCING BALL SHOT

1. Before you animate a bouncing ball firstly decide what you are going to animate a soccer or
    a basket ball ?

2. Then search for the references from the online resources like
     www.youtube.com ,
     http://vimeo.com/groups/aniref/videos
or if you want you shoot the reference yourself .

3. Study the reference carefully look for the contacts ,high points ,spacing and distance between
     each bounces .

4. Planning is very important , never rush while doing Planning . Try and put every information
in your planning that will help you later when you start animating like add spacing and timing
    in your planning .

5. As you have got 100 frames limit  plan your Bouncing Ball shot in such a way so that you can
have the ball stop gradually within the frame limit . Always remember that the ball will stop
    gradually not abruptly.

Excitement Pose

For the excitement pose ,i would suggest you to have a story in your pose like i have mentioned in my previous post. I know it's difficult to tell a story through One single pose but it's not impossible . Always ask your self why is the character excited or whatever emotion may be , who is he and where has he come from and where will he go?
This will help you more to get that feeling of excitement in your pose .

You can also have a setup in the background to show what is he excited for but that i will suggest you to add later and focus more on the pose first.
What everyone will be looking at is the "Pose" you can always add background later because it compliments the pose.

Another thing i would suggest you is to start thinking of the Staging from now onwards because the camera angle you are using to pose your character is really important but also keep an eye on your pose from all view it shouldn't be that you are just working on your pose from the camera angle only and it looks out of balance from other views.

Examples of Good Staging
